Three foreign nationals were arrested in separate operations across the Evros and Rhodope regional units for smuggling migrants into Greece, authorities said Saturday.
In the first incident, border guard officers, working alongside Frontex officials, stopped a foreign woman driving a private vehicle on the Kipoi-Alexandroupoli section of the Egnatia highway. She was found to be transporting five undocumented migrants.
Hours later, on the Ormenio-Ardani national highway, a foreign man was arrested by border officers, also cooperating with Frontex, for transporting six undocumented migrants. A third foreign man was arrested on a provincial road in Rhodope, also carrying five undocumented migrants.
