, JUNE 6:A total of 11 students from Dakshina Kannada are among the top ten rank holders in seven streams of the Common Entrance Test (CET).Ira Jain from The Learning Centre Pre-University College, Mangaluru, was ranked 4th in the Engineering stream. Rishon Fernandes from the same college was ranked 5th in Engineering and tenth in the BPharma and DPharma streams. Abhhi Sannayya, also from the same college, was ranked eighth in the Engineering stream.In a statement released by the institution, Ms. Jain was quoted as saying that practising KCET questions helped improve her speed and accuracy. The faculty at her institute helped strengthen concepts, which helped her in all examinations, including JEE, BITSAT, and KCET, she stated.Rishab M. Shetty from Expert Pre-University College, Valachil, was ranked 8th in the Veterinary and Nursing streams, respectively. Deeksha Shenoy from Expert PU College, Mangaluru, was ranked sixth in the Yoga and Naturopathy stream.A.S. Samay, K.S. Rishika, Ankit Ashok Dodawad, Arale Virupakshi, and Krutika Mallikarjun Patil, all from Expert PU College, Valachil, were ranked third, fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth in the BSc Agriculture stream. Shreya Ballal Nidamboor from Sharada Independent PU College, Mangaluru, was ranked ninth in the B.Sc. Agriculture stream.Students have been anxious about their performance in the NEET re-examination, which is scheduled on June 21. The NEET scores are taken into account for announcing ranks for admission to medicine and dental courses. “We are conducting mock tests online, which students are writing from their homes. We only hope that the students fare better in the re-examination,” said the principal of Sharada Vidyaniketan PU College, Talapady, B.G. Vinayak.The students are also waiting for the commencement of counselling by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority for admission to 138 technical institutions, including IITs, based on scores in JEE and JEE Advanced examinations.
