The command of Russia’s Dnepr Group of Forces has ordered the use of civilian vehicles to transport fuel along the R-280 highway connecting Rostov-on-Don with temporarily occupied Crimea.
This was stated in a comment to Ukrinform by Vladyslav Voloshyn, Spokesperson for the Defense Forces of the South.
“The command of the Dnepr Group of Forces has issued an order to use civilian transport to move fuel along the R-280 highway. This is because Ukraine’s Defense Forces are striking fuel tankers, and the fuel is not reaching Russian units,” Voloshyn said.
He specified that Russian forces intend to use confiscated civilian vehicles seized from transportation companies, delivery services, and postal operators. The vehicles reportedly include bread delivery trucks, cargo trucks used for food transportation, and vehicles normally employed for delivering medical supplies.
“They will be loaded with fuel containers ranging from 20 to 1,000 liters. Drivers of such vehicles are prohibited from wearing military uniforms,” he noted.
