Errol Musk, the father of the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, recently expressed a very strong opinion about the European Union compared to Russia.

His sentiments were geared towards sharp criticism of the European Union, accusing its officials of losing touch with the people they rule.

Errol Musk spoke with Sputnik Africa on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2026, questioning the EU's direction and credibility in light of the continent's mounting political and economic issues.

According to Musk, Europe is experiencing a leadership crisis, with governments losing the support of their constituents.

“Well, Europe’s position is very odd. I don’t think Europe has any direction anymore, they have no idea what is happening in their own countries, their government are not popular, in fact they are very unpopular, and yet they don’t resign.”
