Two people were killed and six injured Friday night when a Tesla crashed into an express bus in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi, as the driver allegedly fled a police drunk-driving checkpoint.

According to Pyeongtaek Police Station on Saturday, the crash happened at around 8:51 p.m. at an intersection in Hapjeong-dong, Pyeongtaek.

Police said an express bus was turning left toward the Anseong Interchange on the Gyeongbu Expressway when it was hit by the Tesla, which was traveling straight from the opposite direction.

The Tesla driver, a man in his 20s, and a female passenger in her 20s were killed.
