MANILA, Philippines — The drama at the Senate is part of a tipping point aimed at ousting President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. so that Vice President Sara Duterte can take power, according to National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Melvin Matibag.
When discussing the Senate drama, Matibag was referring to the recent shootout incident at the upper chamber prior to Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa’s escape on May 14, and the appearance of the “18 alleged former Marines” at the Cayetano-bloc’s blue ribbon committee hearing on Thursday.

“For me, personally, I think they are looking for the tipping point, eh,” Matibag, speaking Filipino, said in a roundtable discussion with the Inquirer on Friday.
