Durham police have announced the results of a large-scale investigation into multiple “criminal tourism” networks, netting more than 40 arrests and laying nearly 1,500 charges related to crimes like insurance fraud and jewelry distraction thefts.

More than 150 arrest warrants are still outstanding for other people wanted by police in “Project Jetsetter,” an investigation into “deliberate, coordinated and profit-driven” organized crime in the Durham region and Greater Toronto Area, according to police.
