A police operation targeting the flow of Class A drugs has resulted in the restraint of $4.8 million worth of property, vehicles, and cash.
The action follows a parallel investigation by the Southern Asset Recovery Unit, police said in a statement on Friday, which was granted a restraining order under the Criminal Proceeds (Recovery) Act 2009.
Six people were arrested and charged two weeks ago after police executed more than 10 search warrants across Christchurch, including at the Christchurch King Cobra chapter’s Addington pad.
Over the past 10 days, police have carried out two further search warrants. In total, officers have restrained four properties, 27 vehicles — including jet skis, motorbikes, and a caravan — and more than $100,000 cash.
Police National Organised Crime Group Acting Crime Manager Detective Inspector Rebecca Cotton said organised crime groups primarily exist to make money.
