When President Donald Trump released renderings of his reimagined Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, there was one peculiar omission: it wasn't reflecting the Washington Monument.Normally an iconic view from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, the water from the pool has historically reflected the monument behind it. But Trump's renderings showed a bright blue tint in the water instead of a natural look that provided the reflection. With water now flowing back into the reflecting pool, here's what we know about whether or not the Washington Monument's reflection can be seen.Is the reflecting pool reflecting the Washington Monument? When water began to trickle back into the pool on Thursday, it was evident the pool did not resemble a swimming pool as Trump's previous images showed. And, as images from the White House showed, the pool once again showed reflections of the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial in both directions.Even as day turned to night Thursday and with the pool only partially filled, the reflections could still be seen, as shown in a photo from Department of the Interior Secretary Doug Burgum.Workers are weeks behind on the original deadline to complete the pool, and according to court documents filed Wednesday, the pool will be refilled by Sunday, June 7.After the pool's completion, crews will get to work on the path alongside the pool, which will be cleaned and sandblasted, Trump said on Truth Social earlier in the week.Trump has said multiple times the project will be complete by July 4, when the country celebrates its 250th birthday with events happening throughout the National Mall.
