Stellenbosch mourns Antonio Britto: Student leader’s death leaves campus in shock.
What should have been the final stretch of a promising university journey has instead become a heartbreaking farewell for 22-year-old Antonio Amelio Alec Britto.
The fourth-year international relations student at Stellenbosch University (SU) was found lifeless at the bottom of a staircase near the Merriman Avenue food court in the early hours of May 30, leaving family, friends and fellow students devastated by the sudden loss.
"Antonio was a beloved member of our community and an active student leader who touched many lives during his time at the university.
"We are walking alongside his family and loved ones, and our support to all those affected remains in place," said Dr Leslie van Rooi, Dean of Students.
