The postal department commemorated World Environment Day 2026 by releasing a special set of nine picture postcards and a special cancellation on the theme ‘Nature’s Keepers’ at Anche Bhavan, Balmatta, in Mangaluru on Friday.K. Prakash, Chief Postmaster General, Karnataka Circle, released them while highlighting the role of philately in creating awareness about environmental conservation and biodiversity.Speaking on the occasion, he said thatphilatelic products serve as effective tools to educate people on important social and environmental issues.The postcards and the cancellation have been designed drawing inspiration from insect life, pollinators, and the rich biodiversity of the Western Ghats, a release said.
