Libyan authorities have arrested 221 suspects and dismantled what they described as a coordinated plot to exploit unrest following a football match and launch targeted attacks on key state institutions, including the Prime Minister’s office.

According to The Libya Observer, the Internal Security Agency announced that it uncovered evidence indicating that the violence, vandalism, and arson recorded in the capital after the Al-Ittihad versus Al-Suwaihli match were not spontaneous acts of public anger, but part of a premeditated campaign aimed at destabilising public order.
