The Salem city police seized 1,45,000 painkiller tablets from a woman on Friday. Acting on a tip-off, the Annathanapatti police searched a house at Mettu Street in Dadagapatti and found 1.45 lakh painkiller tablets worth ₹6.82 lakh, kept for illegal sales.Inquiry revealed that K. Megala (48) kept these tablets for sales. Her husband, Kannan (50), was arrested last month by Sooramangalam police for selling painkiller tablets.
