The Prohibition Enforcement Wing (PEW), Red Hills, arrested a youth on charges of ganja trafficking on Thursday.Based on a tip-off, personnel of the PEW under the Avadi Police Commissionerate conducted surveillance near the Red Hills bus stand. During the operation, the police intercepted an individual identified as Anand Krishnan, 21, from Kerala. Upon questioning and searching him, officers allegedly seized approximately 10.5 kg of ganja from his possession. Subsequent investigation revealed that he had procured the contraband from Odisha and was transporting it to Kerala, the police said. The accused was remanded in judicial custody.
