The SA Weather Service (SAWS) warned of disruptive snow for the north-eastern parts of the Eastern Cape.
"A passing cut-off low, together with a ridge of high-pressure system and low freezing levels, will result in isolated light snow leading to icy roads over the Senqu, Elundini and Sakhisizwe Local Municipalities," the weather forecaster said.
Early on Friday morning, the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) said it is closely monitoring severe weather conditions across the province after heavy snowfall forced the closure of Sani Pass and a storm caused damage to homes in the uMlalazi Local Municipality.
