The M.G.R. Nagar police have arrested two men for selling ganja and pain relief tablets and seized 3,500 tablets and 1.15 kg of ganja from themA police team led by the Inspector of M.G.R. Nagar police station acted on a tip-off and conducted surveillance on Tirunagar River Road in West Jafferkhanpet on Thursday.During the operation, police intercepted two persons standing in the area and searched their bag. Police said the search revealed they stocked ganja and pain relief tablets for sale illegally. The two suspects were taken to the police station, where a case was registered and they were arrested. The accused were identified as Manikandan, 23, of Thideer Nagar, Besant Nagar, and Praveenkumar, 19, of Choolaipallam, M.G.R. Nagar.Police seized 3,500 pain relief tablets and 1.15 kg of ganja from their possession.Investigations revealed the accused had allegedly procured the ganja from Andhra Pradesh and the pain relief tablets from Mumbai, and were selling them in Chennai. Further inquiry revealed Praveenkumar has two previous criminal cases registered against him, including cases related to ganja possession and robbery.
