A visit by SaharaReporters to the Annunciation Specialist Hospital, Emene, Enugu, confirmed that five bodies, including that of the infant, had been deposited in the hospital morgue.
At least five people, including a seven-month-old baby, have been confirmed dead following a lone crash on Friday morning along the Enugu–Abakaliki Highway near Nkalagu Junction in Ebonyi State.
The accident involved a fully loaded Toyota Hummer bus conveying commercial traders returning to the South-East from the northern part of the country.

The baby’s mother survived the crash but is currently receiving treatment alongside several other injured passengers who were rushed to the emergency unit in critical condition.
