MANILA, Philippines — Government contractor Curlee Discaya will be turned over to the Department of the Interior and Local Government next Monday, June 8, according to Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla.
“Upon advice of [Senate President Pro Tempore Win Gatchalian], since the courts are closed, he will be released to us Monday morning,” Remulla told the Inquirer in a text message.
“We will book him in the Senate and bring him straight to Bulacan,” he said.
Discaya is currently detained in the Senate after being cited in contempt for allegedly lying before the Senate blue ribbon committee investigating the flood control scandal.
