Flooding in parts of the Garden Route in the Western Cape.
The Western Cape Government reported that emergency services and municipalities remain on high alert after the Orange Level 8 warning was issued for the Garden Route and Central Karoo earlier this week.
The Western Cape Disaster Management Centre has provided an update on the impact of the adverse weather conditions.
The MEC of Local Government, Environmental Affairs, and Development Planning, Anton Bredell, confirmed the closure of the N1 at Leeu Gamka due to flooding.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) reported rainfall totals of between 50mm and 100mm across the Central Karoo, while some areas in the eastern Garden Route have received up to 200 mm of rain since Wednesday.
