Türkiye's monthly inflation slows in May

Türkiye’s monthly inflation slowed in May, while the annual rate edged up slightly, official data showed.

Consumer prices rose 1.71 percent in May from the previous month, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).

The monthly increase marked a slowdown from April, when consumer prices had risen by more than 4 percent amid pressure from energy and transport costs linked to regional tensions.

Annual inflation stood at 32.61 percent in May, compared with 32.37 percent in April.
