Star Major, trained by James Crawford and ridden by Mickaelle Michel, powers its way to victory in the Grade 1 Daily News 2000 horserace run at the Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse.

The Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse was once again a vibrant hub of excitement as families, friends and colleagues came together to revel in the festivities and the running of the 45th Grade 1 Daily News 2000 race last weekend.

Esteemed as one of South Africa’s premier classic horse-racing events, this year’s race showcased the finest talent among the nation’s three-year-old thoroughbreds.

Among the on-course spectators was Edwin Mampul, a dedicated racegoer who has attended the Daily News 2000 for the past three years.

Sharing the day with long-time friends, Mampul was looking forward to a fun-filled outing and was hopeful of scoring big from the bets he had wagered.
