Korea has been elected as a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (Ecosoc) for the 2027-29 term, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Friday.

It will mark the country's 11th term serving on the Ecosoc, one of the principal bodies of the UN that oversees global discussions on economic, social and development issues and comprises 54 member states, according to the ministry.
