The Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State, Shettima Jauro-Mohammed

The Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State, Shettima Jauro-Mohammed, has warned officers and men of the command against extortion, harassment and intimidation of members of the public, declaring that personnel found culpable would face severe disciplinary measures.

The police commissioner gave the warning on Thursday during the 2026 Nationwide Sensitisation and Awareness Campaign organised by the Complaint Response Unit of the Nigeria Police Force at the state police headquarters in Lafia.

The campaign, tagged “No to Impunity,” was initiated by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, as part of efforts to promote professionalism, accountability and improved police-public relations.

Speaking at the event, Mohammed said the Complaint Response Unit had provided an effective platform for citizens to report misconduct by police officers and seek redress.
