Liverpool have officially confirmed the appointment of Andoni Iraola as their new head coach on a two-year contract following the departure of Arne Slot.

The Reds parted ways with Slot on Saturday, just one year after the Dutchman guided the club to the Premier League title, and have moved swiftly to install Iraola as his successor.

The 43-year-old Spaniard arrives at Anfield after overseeing the most successful top-flight campaign in Bournemouth’s history.

Under his leadership, the Cherries finished sixth in the Premier League, securing a place in next season’s Europa League after ending the campaign just three points and one position behind Liverpool.

Iraola announced in April that he would leave Bournemouth at the end of the season and had attracted interest from several clubs, including Crystal Palace and AC Milan, before opting for the Liverpool challenge.
