Allegations have emerged that the Musina Makhado Special Economic Zone (MMSEZ) appointed its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Gundo Maswime, despite difficulties registering him as a director with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC).
According to a source familiar with the matter, it was standard procedure for CEOs of entities to be registered as directors with the CIPC following their appointment.
The source claimed this had not occurred in Maswime's case.
“When you are appointed as the CEO, you are expected to be registered as a director with the CIPC.
