Swami Abhedananda has for the last 20 years overseen the growth within the Chinmaya Mission in South Africa.
Twenty years ago, on June 4, Swami Abhedananda arrived in South Africa and began a journey of spiritual leadership, community service, and social upliftment that has left a lasting impact on the country’s Hindu community and society at large.
Over the past two decades, Swami Abhedananda has dedicated his life to advancing the vision of his guru, Pujya Swami Chinmayananda, founder of the Chinmaya Mission.
Guided by the ideal of bringing “maximum happiness to the maximum number of people,” he has combined scriptural teaching, humanitarian service, youth development, and community-building to create one of the most influential spiritual movements in the country.
Since his arrival, he has overseen significant growth within the Chinmaya Mission South Africa.
