BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao alleged that the government had falsely implicated former MLA Balka Suman in a bid to divert public attention from alleged irregularities in the Singareni Collieries Company and other governance failures.Speaking to the media after meeting Balka Suman at Chanchalguda Central Prison, he accused the State government of resorting to political vendetta against opposition leaders who were exposing alleged corruption. He was accompanied by senior BRS leaders Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Sudheer Reddy and Harshavardhan Reddy.Mr. Rao accused the government of neglecting the interests of Singareni employees, alleging delays in conducting Medical Invalidation Board meetings and uncertainty over hereditary employment benefits granted during the previous BRS regime. He further claimed that statements made by Mr. Balka Suman at a workers’ meeting were distorted to justify legal action against him.Citing remarks made in the past by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, he asked why similar legal action had not been taken against them or other political leaders over controversial statements.Mr. Rao also levelled serious allegations regarding Singareni operations, claiming that nearly 40 lakh metric tonnes of coal had gone missing and that irregularities worth around ₹1,600 crore had taken place through falsified mining records. He demanded answers from both the State government and the Centre, and said he would write to Union Coal Minister G. Kishan Reddy seeking a detailed inquiry into the alleged scam.
