Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) senior leader and honorary president of the Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS) Koppula Eshwar has stated that the scam in the Singareni coal mines overburden contracts is being discussed across the State and the Naini coal block tenders were cancelled only after party leader T. Harish Rao exposed the scam along with proof.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, the former minister and former Singareni employee sought to know about the OB tenders of other coal mines of Singareni Collieries Company Ltd. and why they were not cancelled so far. He alleged that Singareni had turned into a home of scams after the Congress had assumed power in the State and the value of the scam was about ₹6,000 crore.

He pointed out that Mr. Harish Rao was harassed in the name of SIT inquiry into the phone-tapping case for about seven hours after he brought to light the Singareni OB tenders scam and the Congress leaders were not in a position to even give an explanation on the issue even to deny the scam.

Criticising the Centre for its double standards, Mr. Eshwar said the Centre had ordered CBI inquiry suo motu when the allegation of scams were made, but now it was acting differently. The State Government would not seek any probe into the OB tenders since it involved the brother-in-law of the Chief Minister.
