A primary healthcare facility in Badawa community, Bodinga Local Government Area of Sokoto State, has fallen into severe disrepair, forcing hundreds of residents, including pregnant women, to rely on only two healthcare workers for medical care.

Residents told SaharaReporters that the hospital has remained in ruins since a violent windstorm damaged parts of the facility about 10 years ago, leaving several sections unusable and exposing patients to harsh conditions.

According to residents, many wards have no roofs, walls are cracked, and only a few sections of the hospital remain functional.

“The hospital is in a terrible state. Many of the rooms have no roofing, the walls are damaged, and only a few sections are functional,” a resident, Halima Abdu, told SaharaReporters, lamenting that access to healthcare has become a major challenge for people in the area.
