T-Mobile U.S.A. through TMUS Global Solutions formally opened its global technology centre in Hyderabad, marking a significant expansion of the telecom service provider’s technology and innovation footprint outside the U.S.Hyderabad emerging as global innovation, investment hub: IT MinisterFor Telangana, the facility reinforces the State’s position as a preferred destination for high-value global capability centres (GCCs) and global enterprises for building next-generation technology capabilities.Plans to hire 1,000 employees by 2027The centre will serve as a strategic innovation centre within the company’s global network, building advanced capabilities across software engineering, DevOps, product development, data analytics, cybersecurity and next-generation digital solutions.The company plans to scale the Hyderabad centre to nearly 1,000 employees by 2027, Industries and IT Minister D.Sridhar Babu’s office said after the Minister inaugurated the 2.5 lakh sqft facility on Thursday (June 4, 2026).T-Mobile is one of the largest wireless network operators in the United States, serving more than 140 million customers.Tech centre to drive capabilities across software platformsThe Hyderabad facility will help drive capabilities across software platforms, cloud technologies, data, Artificial Intelligence, automation, cybersecurity, and enterprise digital transformation. It will support development of scalable technology solutions serving technology operations and customer experiences, the Minister’s office said.T-Mobile establishing the centre in the city is a strong validation of Hyderabad’s ability to deliver world-class talent at scale. “This capability did not happen overnight. Over two years, we have built one of the most diverse and high-value GCC ecosystems in the country,” Mr. Sridhar Babu said.Hyderabad hosts 450 GCCs employing 3 lakh peopleThe talent available in Telangana is across sectors and technologies. “Engineers and innovators from Hyderabad are solving complex challenges across telecom, AI, Life Sciences, semiconductors, BFSI, retail and several other industries. Telangana has created the right ecosystem for global companies to come here, scale and build technologies that create impact across the world,” the Minister said. Hyderabad plays host to more than 450 GCCs employing more than three lakh professionals across sectors.Underscoring the strong combination of technology talent, innovation capabilities and an established ecosystem Hyderabad offers, V-P-Information Technology at TMUS Global Solutions Chandra Gupta said the new centre will play an important role in strengthening the company’s engineering and digital capabilities.
