O-World Zoo in Daejeon, which had temporarily closed its doors following the escape of a wolf named Neukgu, unveiled the animal to the media at its wolf enclosure on Thursday ahead of the theme park's official reopening. After shutting down on April 8 due to the incident, the park conducted a thorough safety inspection alongside external experts, formulated a corrective action plan, and reinforced its facilities. Regular operations are set to resume on Friday. Neukgu had escaped on April 8 by digging a hole beneath the enclosure's wire fence and was safely recaptured 10 days later, around 12:44 a.m. on April 17, approximately one kilometer away from the zoo. Its escape and safe return caused national sensations. [NEWS1]
