Ukraine's High Anti-Corruption Court has imposed a preventive measure on a suspect accused of organizing a scheme to embezzle nearly UAH 170 million from Energoatom during the construction of a critical infrastructure facility in the Mykolaiv region – the Tashlyk Pumped Storage Power Plant.
The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office reported on Facebook that the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court ordered pre-trial detention for the suspect, who is described as the de facto owner of several companies and the organizer of the scheme, Ukrinform reports.
The court also set an alternative bail amount of UAH 30 million, along with a series of procedural obligations in case the bail is posted.

Prosecutors argue that the bail amount is insufficient to mitigate the risks that justified the detention and are preparing an appeal against the ruling of the investigating judge.
