A famous Dunedin personality could soon become extinct.
Councillors are mulling replacing or refurbishing the iconic dinosaur slide at St. Kilda's Marlow Park as part of a multi-million dollar destination playground upgrade.
Dunedin City Councillor Andrew Simms is lobbying to save the dinosaur, telling Morning Report on Thursday the dinosaur has been a part of the childhood of many Dunedin locals for decades. And, he was one of the first to take a slide down the reptile.
