PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur — A juvenile Brahminy Kite (Haliastur indus) eagle was rescued in Barangay Timan, Liloy town, Zamboanga del Norte after a concerned resident reported the distressed bird to the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO).

Roserverico Tan, chief of the Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group (RSCIG) of DENR-9, told the Inquirer that CENRO-Liloy personnel retrieved the young raptor on Wednesday, June 3, following a report from Tito Elogsong, who found the bird in a weak condition near his residence.

Elogsong said he observed several crows harassing the eagle at around 1:30 p.m. on June 2.
