I've been trying to get to the bottom of the Lee Andrews mystery, but after weeks of chatting to authorities and sources, thing are only getting more confusing.18:20, 03 Jun 2026Updated 18:22, 03 Jun 2026I've been trying to get to the bottom of the Lee Andrews mystery for the past few weeks and have kept hitting dead ends in this case that is getting more confusing as the weeks go by.To give a quick summary of this case, Lee failed to show up to a Good Morning Britain interview in the UK with Katie Price and sent videos of himself at and airport in Oman, which was evidentially Dubai airport - ie: not where he said he was.So when Katie announced that he had been "kidnapped" and he had told her to alert the authorities, eyebrows were raised. Particularly given multiple reports that Lee is a "con-artist", which various sources have also alleged to The Mirror.However, a few days later a Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed: "We are supporting the family of a British man and are in contact with the local authorities."After various back and forth conversations, they have been unable to confirm if this means that Lee has been imprisoned or detained, or what he may have been detained for. They have also been unable to confirm if he has been detained in Dubai - or in another emirate, as has been suggested by some of our sources.Not long after it was announced by Lee Andrew's father that he was imprisoned and not kidnapped. Katie initially disagreed with this, calling his claims "fake news". She later confirmed to followers that he was detained and in Al Awir prison.“I have found him – he is alive, and he is okay," she told The Sun. "I told him how worried I had been and told him I loved him. It was very rushed, but he said the authorities out there thought he was a spy. I don’t know much more than that right now."The Foreign Office again was unable to confirm this - giving us the same comment from a spokesperson - and encouraged us to go to local authorities, but we were met with more dead ends and no responses. Authorities have reportedly since confirmed to The Sun that he was not detained over spying charges but instead in relation to a private civil matter.We've heard there were additional crimes reported about Lee in Hertfordshire that were then passed on to Interpol, but this has appeared to hit another dead end after being passed from UK police to Dubai authorities.In a statement given to The Mirror a few weeks ago, Hertfordshire Police the explained: "We’d like to clarify that Hertfordshire Constabulary received a report in March, however, once it was established the alleged offences happened in Dubai, we referred this case to the relevant authorities as this was outside of our jurisdiction."We then heard from another source that that Interpol was not on the hunt for Lee, adding that if he is being held by authorities in the United Arab Emirates it's not likely to be due to a report that was first received by Hertfordshire Police earlier this year.So what's the lay of the land now? We cannot verify that Lee is in prison, and if he is, we cannot verify why he is being detained. We also cannot verify where he is being detained or how long he might be there for.Katie flew to Dubai on Monday from Gatwick Airport and on Wednesday told fans she planned to pay to free him: "I know he's in a prison. I've been told if two cases are paid they'll let him out. I'm going to see if that's true. If he does he gets out and then I need answers and questions to a lot of stuff."She added on Facebook: "If those cases are paid and he's not allowed out then I've got to try and get a visit to chat about everything. I think you only get half an hour. Either way I don't know if I'm going to see Lee or not when I get there."However, a source has now told the Daily Mail that this will not be happening: "Katie is going to the [Al Awir] prison on Wednesday to try to speak to Lee.
