An interactive session on railway safety was organised for railway officials and employees in which different ways of preventing fire accidents were discussed here on Wednesday.The session harped on the ways to possible fire accidents at stations, running trains and stabled trains/coaches, areas involving public and passenger safety.Principal Chief Safety Officer Lalit Mansukhani and Divisional Railway Manager Omprakash Meena addressed the participants.The officials spoke on safety measures to be taken while dispatching two-wheelers in parcel vans by properly draining petrol tanks. Similarly, disconection of batteries of electric two-wheelers and four-wheelers, is also mandatory.The danger of carrying crackers and other inflammable materials during train travel, illegal use of cooking cylinders and stoves in tourist coaches, and dumping of waste along the trackside and setting fire to it were also highlighted.Staff and supervisors were asked to act proactively in preventing such fire incidents.Senior Divisional Safety Officer, Amit Kumar Gupta, was present.
