He will be profoundly missed by his family and friends. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time".Emergency services swarmed the property on May 17 after the blue Ford Mondeo slammed into the front of the semi-detached home at around 6pm. The car struck the property after colliding with stationary vehicles parked along the street.The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital, where he died on Sunday May 24, Cambridgeshire Police said.The man and a woman in their 70s were also taken to hospital with serious injuries. The man has since been released and the woman is still receiving treatment. She is in a serious, but not life-threatening, condition, police say.Greg Hilliam, a resident living close to the scene of the crash, described scenes of "chaos" as emergency services arrived. He told Cambridgeshire Live: "I didn't hear a thing, the only thing I heard was the sirens."I looked out of the window and thought what the hell is going on? My first thought was also how did it get to this state? However, cars do bomb down here. I've been here for 39 years and nothing like that has happened."Article continues belowAnother neighbour, who didn't want to be named, said his family were woken by the "commotion". He said: "My sister said people were gawping. The car came through the [house's] hedge]."
