With more than 1,400 islands scattered between the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, there is no shortage of options.
There is something deeply satisfying about stepping off a boat onto a new island every few days.
One moment you’re sipping fresh coconut water on a palm-fringed beach. A short ferry ride later, you are snorkelling over coral reefs, exploring hidden coves or watching the sunset from a completely different stretch of sand.
It is little wonder that island-hopping has become one of the most popular ways to experience Thailand.
For South Africans, the appeal is even greater.
