GREEN BAY, Wis. — Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs practiced in front of reporters on Tuesday while still under investigation by the Brown County District Attorney’s Office for alleged domestic abuse.Jacobs was arrested by the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department last Tuesday and jailed on five charges stemming from an alleged incident that happened on Saturday, May 23. The charges included felony strangulation and suffocation, and four misdemeanors: battery (domestic abuse), criminal damage to property (domestic abuse), disorderly conduct (domestic abuse) and intimidation of a victim.Jacobs, 28, was released from jail last Wednesday afternoon after the Brown County D.A.’s Office announced that there was insufficient evidence to pursue criminal charges at the time and that they had reason to believe there may be additional evidence that would impact what criminal charges are appropriate or if criminal charges are appropriate. The investigation remains ongoing, which has allowed Jacobs to be around the team.Jacobs, who has rushed for 2,258 yards and 28 touchdowns in two seasons with the Packers after signing a four-year, $48 million deal in March 2024, appeared to be a full participant in Tuesday’s practice open to reporters. Head coach Matt LaFleur said it has been “business as usual” at Lambeau Field, even with Jacobs’ legal situation hanging over the team.
