Jacobs faces five charges stemming from an incident that occurred on May 23."On May 23, 2026, at approximately 8:37 a.m., the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department was dispatched to a disturbance complaint involving Josh Jacobs," Chief Michael Renkas said in a statement.Renkas added that Jacobs was arrested on May 26 as a result of the investigation and booked into Brown County Jail on the following five charges:Battery – Domestic AbuseCriminal Damage to Property – Domestic AbuseDisorderly Conduct – Domestic AbuseStrangulation and SuffocationIntimidation of a Victim"This remains an active and ongoing investigation," the statement read. "No further information will be released at this time."Jacobs' attorneys, David Z. Chesnoff, Richard A. Schonfeld and Clarence Duchac, quickly put out a statement saying the running back is denying the allegations."Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public," the statement, via NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, read. "We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course."The Packers are aware of the arrest and provided a comment to USA TODAY Sports.“We are aware of the matter involving Josh Jacobs," a Packers spokesperson said. "As it is an ongoing legal situation, we will withhold further comment.”The 28-year-old has played the last two seasons with the Packers as part of a four-year, $48 million deal he signed with the team in free agency in 2024.Jacobs has totaled 30 touchdowns in his time with the Packers and rushed for 2,258 yards in 32 regular-season games.This story will be updated when new information becomes available.
