Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran visited Tata Advanced Systems Ltd’s (TASL) facilities in Bengaluru, including the upcoming Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) centre and the company’s Electronics City campus.During the visit, Chandrasekaran inspected TASL’s UAV manufacturing facility, optronics product lines and land mobility platforms at the Electronics City facility.TASL is setting up India’s first private-sector defence MRO facility in Bengaluru. Spread across 16 acres and spanning 15,000 square metres, the facility is scheduled to be commissioned by December-end 2026. It will undertake heavy maintenance and avionics upgrades for the Lockheed Martin C-130J transport aircraft and is expected to employ more than 250 personnel.At the Electronics City campus, Chandrasekaran was briefed on TASL’s strategic UAV programme, under which key capabilities have been designed and integrated in India to develop indigenous platforms. He also reviewed the company’s loitering munitions platform, which now features upgraded operational ranges extending from 50 km to several hundred kilometres, along with enhanced payload capabilities.The visit also showcased TASL’s Land Mobility Division, which has expanded its presence in international markets. Over the past three years, the division has supplied more than 4,000 multi-axle high-mobility platforms to customers including the Royal Moroccan Army and the Armenian Armed Forces. TASL also highlighted its work in modifying Jaguar Land Rover Defender vehicles for military applications through the integration of optronics systems, navigation aids and armouring solutions tailored to diverse operational requirements.Chandrasekaran also visited TASL’s facility in Vemagal, where he reviewed the Tata Advanced Systems-Airbus H125 Final Assembly Line (FAL), established for the India H125 programme.
