The Telangana High Court directed the Siddipet district Collector to affix the name Raji Reddy Bhavan on the office building of the Timmapur gram panchayat of Dubbaka mandal as per the GO Rt no. 96 issued by the State government six years ago. The HC passed the order after hearing a writ petition filed by the daughter-in-law of late Raji Reddy who served as sarpanch of the village from 1987 to 1992. During construction of the new office building in 2017, the gram panchayat unanimously resolved to name the building after late Raji Reddy and eventually the GO no. 96 was passed in 2020. The same year a writ petition was filed seeking a direction to declare the GO null and void but was withdrawn. Observing that a duty was cast upon the authorities to enforce the order issued by the government, the HC instructed the officials to comply with the GO. Published - June 02, 2026 09:46 pm IST
