Four individuals were arrested by the Begumpet police on Tuesday in connection with the murder of a 22-year-old man in East Marredpally.The accused were identified as Panga Sai Nikhil, 22, Bandi Anand alias Nandu, 19, Chinthakayala Sainath, 26, and Rasepelli Ramesh alias Pandu, 20. All four were taken into custody by Marredpally police following an investigation into the killing of K. Shravan, a resident of Sanjeevayya Nagar.According to police, the incident stemmed from a dispute that occurred late on the night of May 31. Shravan’s father, Kausalya Parashuram, said that his daughter was confronted by Nikhil outside their house, who behaved inappropriately. When family members objected, an argument ensued.Police said that when Shravan returned home later that night and went out to enquire about the altercation, he was intercepted by Nikhil and his associates near a house in the locality. During the confrontation, Nikhil attacked Shravan with a knife, inflicting multiple injuries.Shravan was rushed to Gandhi Hospital by family members and local residents but succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment in the early hours of June 1.Following a complaint, Marredpally police registered a murder case and launched a manhunt for the accused. Investigators examined the crime scene, recorded witness statements, analysed CCTV footage and gathered technical and forensic evidence. The knife used in the attack was also seized.Preliminary investigation indicated that the murder was linked to longstanding personal disputes and previous enmity between the prime accused and the victim’s family, police said.Further investigation is under way.
