For weeks now, the troubled schoolteacher, played by Rob Mallard, had had to deal with malicious rumours being spread about him online after his now ex-girlfriend Megan Walsh was exposed as a paedophile.‌Earlier this week, Daniel thought his worries were over as the profile, which was known as Truthteller and was initially operated by the mysterious Jodie Ramsey, suddenly vanished. But almost as quick as it disappeared, it came back, although suspiscions were immediately raised that Jodie was in the clear this time as she was sitting beside Daniel in the Bistro when the new social media page popped up.‌Jodie (Olivia Frances Brown) was introduced as the long-lost sister of Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) in the programme's crossover with Emmerdale and has been impossible to work out ever since, having been seen stealing items from neighbours and trying to pass herself off as her ill niece's mum. She struck something of a relationship up with Daniel after breaking into his flat and taken advantage of his vulnerable state.‌In recent months, Bethany, who previously had a career as a journalist before, has become increasingly wary about Jodie but appears to have been biding her time. Now, fans have started to speculate that she might be the second troll who is anonymously terrorising Daniel - especially after she was involved in a love triangle with Daniel and his now ex-girlfriend Daisy Midgely (Charlotte Jordan), which resulted in a paternity scandal.Taking to Reddit, one fan said: "I'm starting to think that Bethany Platt might be behind this second Truthteller account. We haven't seen her do much sleuthing since she started to suspect Jodie - and this might be her way of exposing her? Or trying to find out Jodie was behind the first one?‌"It would be a complete personality transplant (but those seem to happen every episode now), although remember she's probably still not really forgiven Daniel for the whole Daisy saga."Another said: "Wait if Bethany is truthteller 2.0 and that's why Lucy said we'd hate her character???" Earlier this year, actress Lucy Fallon, who has played Bethany for more than a decade on the ITV soap, teased that something potentially divisive was coming up for her alter-ego.‌Speaking at the Grand National Festival at Aintree Racecourse, she teased: "She does [have a big storyline coming up]. I can't tell you what it is, but it's not going to be great."I don't think people are going to be happy about it. This one is low-key her fault. Everyone is going to be like, 'She is a d**k.' Which is fine."Lucy says as long as the plot "is good" she's happy to get her teeth stuck into it. She shared: "I don't mind what it [her storyline] is as long as it's a good one.Article continues below"Being in the Platts is a good family to be in. It's an amazing honour to get a storyline, I don't take it for granted at all."
