DryDel Shipping has announced a further expansion of its newbuilding investment programme ahead of the international shipping exhibition Posidonia 2026, signing agreements for the construction of three new dry bulk vessels at leading Japanese shipyards.The new orders comprise one 82,000 dwt Kamsarmax vessel to be built at Shin Kurushima Shipyard, scheduled for delivery in 2028, as well as two 64,000 dwt Ultramax vessels to be constructed at Nihon Shipyard and Oshima Shipyard, with deliveries scheduled for 2029 and 2030, respectively.All vessels will be Tier III-compliant and will feature next-generation designs focused on reducing emissions and enhancing energy efficiency.Following these latest agreements, the company’s newbuilding programme now totals 11 vessels with an aggregate carrying capacity exceeding 1.2 million dwt.“Our objective is to develop a modern, efficient and commercially competitive fleet that delivers sustainable long-term value,” said Kostas Delaportas, Chief Executive Officer of DryDel Shipping.
