MANILA, Philippines – The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) has finalized negotiations on the Digital Economy Framework Agreement (Defa), the region’s most comprehensive digital economy pact.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said negotiations for the agreement were completed during the second Asean Senior Economic Officials’ Meeting held in Manila through May 29.

This clears the way for the agreement’s expected signing in November, when Southeast Asian leaders return to the Philippines for the 49th Asean Summit.
