Russia launched one of its largest aerial assaults on Ukraine overnight, firing 656 drones and 73 missiles, including ballistic missiles, in attacks that killed at least nine people and injured dozens across several Ukrainian cities.

Al Jazeera reports that in the capital city, Kyiv, Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that at least four people were killed while 58 others, including two children, sustained injuries during the strikes.
“Explosions in the city. Air defence forces are working! Stay in shelters!” Klitschko warned residents during the bombardment.
