Owain Rhys Davies, best known for his role as Agent Wilson in Twin Peaks, died in May, his family have announced.The star's brother Rhodri wrote in a statement: "‘It is with profound sadness that my father and I share the news that my brother, Owain, has passed away. This news will come as a great shock to many. The reach of Owain’s love, friendship, and generosity was vast."He added that there were "still questions" about how his brother died, but that, so far, it was their "understanding" that "Owain passed suddenly, naturally and peacefully".The statement continued: "The outpouring of messages we have received over the past few days has been deeply moving and a testament to the impact he had on so many lives."Owain was fortunate enough to have more than one family. Alongside his biological one, he built extraordinary, family-like bonds with many of his closest friends, colleagues, and loved ones." Rhodri finished by saying Owain was a "brother to so many" and that he and the rest of family were taking "comfort in knowing how loved he was".The Welsh actor has been in a number of TV shows alongside Twin Peaks, including The OA, and been in feature films, such as Alice Through the Looking Glass. His final two projects, Jeff the Killer and La Fantasia, are both in post production and will be released shortly. He also worked on the stage, starring in top-rated London productions including The Wizard of Oz and Mamma Mia.The news of Owain's death has been met with tributes by the stars of the acting industry who knew him. Coronation Street's Hayley Tamaddon shared a picture of him online and shared her heartbreak alongside it. "Heartbreaking to hear that my beautiful friend has passed away. Owain was loved by so many. He lit up Every room he went into," she said."I have some wonderful memories of us together, we go back so many years.. but our time together in LA will always make me smile. Sleep well my love. My heart goes out to his friends, and family Rhodri and Conway."Scottish actress Ruth Connell also shared a tribute: "Can’t write this for crying – I can’t see through my glasses all fogged up. Trying to write this as I have been for days, and I can’t imagine when it will be different – the loss to us all who loved him [Owain] beyond measure."She called him the "funniest. Kindest. Silliest. Deepest. Singie-est. Uniquest…" person, adding that he was "also diligent, thoughtful as well as just a glorious ray of Welsh sunshine whenever he turned up" and had an enormous heart.Welcome to Wrexham star Humphrey Ker added: "My friend Owain has died. Unexpectedly and most unwelcomely. He was a gentleman and a wally and a talent and a giver and maker of joy."I shall miss him very much. I shall, in the brilliant words of Jack Rooke: 'Not let the injustice of what could have been override all the joy of what was.'"Downton Abbey's Joanna Froggatt said: "I am just devastated to lose our beautiful friend, he was more than a friend, he was joy, and life and talent and kindness and fun and intelligence, [he] was everything, and my brain can’t compute that we don’t get to hug him again.
