File: Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State
The Anambra State government has vowed to fish out the gunmen who killed two policemen and two civilians, saying that no stone would be left unturned in fishing out and dealing with their assailants.
Our correspondent gathered that the policemen and two civilians were ambushed and shot dead along the Amansea–Awa–Ufuma Road, located in Orumba North Local Government Area of the state, while in a convoy on Sunday night as they were returning from an assignment.
The attack involved the convoy of Chief Ben Nwankwo, the Chief of Staff to the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, who had attended a function on behalf of the governor, was returning to Awka when the incident occurred.
Although, the Chief of Staff escaped unhurt, while some civilians in the entourage were injured in the gun duel that lasted several minutes.
