The attack, which occurred on Sunday night at about 8:30pm, has triggered heightened security measures across the state.
The Anambra State Police Command has launched a manhunt for gunmen who ambushed a security convoy of the Chief of Staff to Anambra State Governor, Chief Ben Nwankwo, along the Amansea-Ufuma Road, killing two police officers attached to the operation.
The attack, which occurred on Sunday night at about 8:30pm, has triggered heightened security measures across the state.
While the senior government official escaped unharmed, the assault left two police operatives dead and affected several civilians caught in the incident.
In response, the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has ordered all tactical formations and operational units to identify, track and arrest those responsible within 48 hours.
